TASK 6: LOCATION EXPLORATION
I have finally managed to complete my location exploration. I have placed the images I have taken into a plain landscape wide frame layout to present my images. Due to the slight camera uploading problem I just had to upload a back up location then afterwards I finally managed to upload the completed one. Overall, throughout the layout and the shooting I have used variations of location. The images vary from indoors to outdoors, I have decided to do this because I wanted to show a range of theme place I could use for my final piece. Across, the top of my location it's all outdoors - I have done the shot in different time of the day and a few bits are indoors.
On the back up location - the dark image was taken in Forbury Garden, I have decided to take that image because during the process of my photo session there was a Christmas festival - ride place open up in the Garden area. The lighting was perfect it had all bright which was a contrast to the night I captured the images to show light vs dark.
To create a contact sheet I have used a Adobe Bridge. I have selectively taken images for the location. I have used medium shot and a wide shot for most of my images so that there is a overview of location.
The third image was taken out in the St Barnabas church area in emmer green a greenery landscape uses of wide shot for overview. The fourth image was taken in town on a rainy day outside on a empty side walk way. I decided to place that location as I believe that it was a perfect RnB like dance stage music atmosphere outside in contrast to the indoors ideal. The fifth location is near Budgens in black horse road area, another greenery scenario where is well balanced warm colour (green, autumn fallen leaves, road way , lamp post etc.) this creates a welcoming atmosphere.
The sixth location was in Hong Kong inside a ship, I have decided to use this as one of my location because it is very different and unique. There is a row of benches in the ship which is crafted by wood, and so are the design of the inside of the ship. The seventh location was outside of bite the Café, it was a low angle shot just to focus on the props and the layout of the area. The eight location was on the London Road in town, I have used a close up shot because this shot magnifies the object (think of how big it looks on a cinema screen) and shows the importance of things.
Lastly, the ninth location was on the side walk of oracle, I have used High angle shot to make the object photographed seem smaller, and less significant as I was trying to focus more on the landscape rather than the model.

THE REST OF THE BRIEF ANALYSIS IS BELOW AS THE LOCATIONS ARE RE-PASTED
The completed location layout
The first image was captured at night and was a extreme long shot taken from as much as a quarter of a mile away. I've used this to show a general outlook of the place. This was captured the back of oracle from the bridge view. The lights that were up really added in a spark into the photo - the river had reflection of the bright lighting and building which created a soft , elegant atmosphere. Similarly, the second image was taken in Hong Kong when I went for a holiday this again is a extreme long shot of a plain roadway to present the layout of the roadway - in this image I'm tying to show that this location overall is appropriate for the shot because it is less cramped. The third image was taken out in the St Barnabas church area in emmer green a greenery landscape uses of wide shot for overview. The fourth image was taken in town on a rainy day outside on a empty side walk way. COMPLETED LOCATION LAYOUT
- An explanation illustrating why these locations are appropriate/not appropriate for your genre and audience?
- I believe the locations I have chosen are appropriate for my genre and audience because I have varied the location , although the locations I have chosen are not plain backgrounds but it live background this is done on purpose because later on my final product I would like to show a greater change I can make via with my Photoshop.
- On the other hand, this can also be not appropriate because a plain background photo-shooting will help me add in more details in my photo rather then having the nature or a empty place.
- Your final decisions on locations for your photo-shoot ?
- Overall, I have decided to make use of all of the location that I have captured because I have made sure to use then in different parts of my work during my mock ups.
