SCHOOL MAGAZINE COVER EVALUATION

POINT-OUT

Masthead:
The title of my magazine is large and bold to make it stand out and covey the readers the purpose of the magazine 'Back to School'. The font I have used for the title is 'DISTURBO' I have decided to use this font because it is different, unique, cool and smart. This allows the readers to recognize the magazine. The colour of the font is black I have decided to use this particular colour because it is bold, blunt and simple. Due to the effect of the dirty dip style on the 'DISTURBO' font it makes it look astonishing. The colour black makes the target audience wide range and its easily accessible.
Date:
I have put in the date of the event, as it is a important information this allows the readers to know when the event is occurring. So that the audience would be more aware of the event that has been released.
Main Image:
I decided to make the main image 'medium' and put it in the middle of the page to show its importance and keep it to the centre of focus. I decided to make the image mediums so I can cover the rest of the page with relevant information.
Cover-line:
Used to attract the readers so that they would want to purchase the magazine.
Bar-code:
I have put in a barcode as this is essential  for the buyers this is a selling line.
Colour Scheme:
The colour scheme I used is (black, blue, purple, pink and white) I have chosen this colours because firstly it meets my target audience as it's aimed at both gender. Secondly, it's light and warm colour makes the out look more welcoming and comfortable.
Pages (Content):
The content is stated so that the reader could have further more information, and more details about the main event.

CONCLUSION

Overall, I have created this school magazine to promote the school Amor Academy for its open evening this was my essential theme and aim.

SCHOOL MAZAGINE

FONTS

Insert Title
This font is ‘Moderate Personal use’ as shown above it has a very delicate style due to the use of the Italic writing. The wordings of swirl creates an enhancement of a smooth flow to the writing. The use of the Italic writing it gives out a very posh and richness to the text with hint of formality. The positive thing about this font is that it is very cool and swirly. Nevertheless, the negative thing about this is that the use of the Italic and be difficult to read. This font would be mostly use in more of the crafty magazines.
insert title
Antique quest st, this following font is presented in a big and bold lettering and as it is created it gives out a very antique, old fashioned outlook. Especially the lettering presented is clearly readable and is fashionable as well. The strengths of this style of font is that it is readable and clear. Yet,  the weakness of this font is that is does not fit the 'back to school' ideal. As is type of fonts are mostly used in fairy tale story books or ancient works.

InsertTitle
Otra Mas Stf, fonts is a key simple font, yet it’s very appealing to the eyes. The use of the boarder-line connotes the importance's as it’ the (headline/ title). This following font is very simple, and appealing the use of the borderline helps the text to standout, and it looks presentable and neat.

Insert Title
Your Fear, font start off with a very interesting and sophisticated font look. Giving out a indication of good scene of style and a pitch perfect design and creation. Although it can be difficult to read due to the spacing  of the words other than that it's very stylish.

INSERT FONT
DISTURBO, this particular font is very stylish and cool as it is giving out a brand new look to it text. The dirty drip on the font makes the font look unique and slick, plus the boldness of the lettering just makes the font perfect making it standout. It's good for a masthead.

insert title
aNYDOR
This font gives out a bubbly and comfortable outlook to the heading. The use of spots makes the title seem more arty and eye-catching. There is a good contrast of the colour black and white which makes the font appealing. The pros about this is that it is bold and has a clever use of spots to create out the lettering. On the other hand, this is not fit for all-purpose although it is clear and big etc...

insert title am_intex
Straightforwardly looks absolutely creative and artistic due to the different use of lettering, there is uses of patterns (flowery) design. The pro of this font is that it would fit in for arty, flowery more creative workbook and or magazines. However, the cons is that this following font can be a bit confusing due to the crowded patterns surrounding it.

Insert Title
Lucida Blacklette, this following font is very old and sharp, giving out a strong layout. This font is mostly used in the newspapers i.e. the Time and New York time. The pros about this font is that it is big and bold. On the other hand the cons of this font is that it is not fit for professional purposes.

CONCLUSION

Overall, I have anaysised 6 fonts as I believe that this would help me to have more ideas for my front cover of a 'back to school' mazagine. Throughout this analysation of the fonts I have chosen to use the DISTURBO for my masthead of the school magazine. As it is very stylish and fits the purpose of my aim.

STUDENT MAGAZINE RESEARCH/ ANALYSIS

SECONDARY SCHOOL GUIDE
This school magazine has chosen to use a large font for the word 'School' which stands out immediately, on top of that it has also applied the colour navy blue to keep it bold. Text styles has been varied; uses of Capital, Italic, Arial Normal to pursue it's own importance. The colours used are also varied but mainly the colour scheme is red & blue. The use of the blocks of highlights are there to give out further information.
The way the image is presented on the magazine reflects good organisation. The students uniform are tidy and bright which makes the students centre of focus (subject of topic more relevant as it creates a link 'back to school'). The body language of the students in the following image outshine as it give out a comforting outlook towards the behaviour of the students which credits the school; friendly & smart. The main purpose of this magazine is to inform us the readers about 'CHOOSING A School FOR YOUR CHILD VICTORIA'.

TEENAGE STRESS
The following magazine uses range of colour, more soft and warm colours which reflects the font to be more comfortable and easy to read. The layout of this particularity magazine is simple and gives out a more feminine taste of the choices of colour. Therefore I believe their aimed audience is female teens.
The font size varies from small to large, there are uses of different style of writing on the magazine some which is more fancy and different from the  others. The figure on the magazine stereotypes femininity and the choice of subject reflects the aimed audience 'teenage stress'. The figures on the magazine reveals the body gesture of the student; giving out a more comforting and open out outlook.

PREP SCHOOL COOL
The 'Prep School' magazine straight on has a fancy wording which clearly makes a lot of difference, it immediately make the magazine appear much more appealing to look at as it cool this then perfectly fits the purpose of the title 'Prep School Cool' giving out a cool expression. The model's bodily expression expresses out a strong, independent and confident expression to the readers, allowing them to fit in and to be comfortable in the surrounding making it easy for them to adapt. The colours used expresses dark and light tone on the front of the magazine as it exposes the exciting part of the school 'Cool'.
